ROAR: The Nature Project

Madeleine, cello
Peter Zummo, didjeridoo

WILD AND WIRED again! Madeleine debuts her nature project. Madeleine has developed "The Nature Project," an exciting new concert program that focuses on the natural environment. Long a cross-country skier, hiker, cyclist, canoeist and environmental activist, Madeleine was interested in bringing these interests to her professional life. The program emphasizes works that directly incorporate and interweave natural sounds into the fabric of the compositions. Many of the works were written especially for the project and incorporate either taped or computer electronics. This evening's program is below.

Peter Zummo-Invocation-didjeridoo improvisation
Matthew Burtner-Fragments from Cold for cello and taped electronics-written for Madeleine
Judith Shatin-For the Birds for cello and taped electronics-written for Madeleine
Guillermo Galindo-Tres Tigres Tristes-for cello and taped electronics-world premiere-written for Madeleine
Morton Subotnick-Axolotl for cello and live computer electronics
Paul Rudy-Degrees of Separation "Grandchild of Tree"-for amplified cactus, taped and live computer electronics
